Herman the German Friendship Cake

Hi Peeps - this is totally unrelated to cardmaking but i wanted to share my Herman cake with you as it is my first go at this malarky.  My friend Sue asked if i would like to have a go at making this cake. This is how it arrived to me.

Now the instructions were very explicit - i had to look after this little pile of gloop for 10 days - i must not put the lid on or i would kill it - seriously thats what the instuctions said - i must put it on the worktop and cover loosely with a tea towel - then on day 4 i had to feed the gloop - this in itself caused a few technical hitches as i didnt realise the gloop was gonna grow - i had to get him indoors to take me shopping to find a big mixing bowl - go figure huh - then on day 9 i had to feed the gloop again by this point i was considering charging the gloop rent - i forgot to say i had to stir vigourously every day as well - ok  day 10 and i get to make the cake this is what it looked like once i had added all the stuff and let me tell ya there was a bucket load of stuff to add - if you only knew me - no way shape or form am i cook

then i had to put it into a baking tray and sprinkle with brown sugar and then pour melted butter on top
Now into the oven for a supposed 45 mins - now i am that bad at cooking that meant i was tied to the kitchen for 45 mins - otherwise i wander off and forget that i am cooking - This is the end result
And it actually tasted yummy - it has apples - bananas - sultanas in this one

And this one has cherrys-bananas-chocolate in it - which my son Kier says is the business and i swear he has eaten a quarter of it already - well what do you think Sue how many marks for this then - huh homework is done.

more leftovers

Hi Peeps - here is another little card that i have put together with some leftover bits of paper and bits and bobs.

i hope you like - kym xx

Mo's Cherry Girl

Hi again guys - have finished this card so being as i was in a blogging mood i decided to share with you all - this is the Cherry Girl from - i love mo's images they are just so sweet - i wanted to use the really pretty bias binding that i got from here - its just so pretty - methinks i will have to buy some more.

The papers came free with a magazine but you can buy the digital papers from here - the lace was from my stash and the sentiment is a Whimsy stamp - there is a pull out tag which is big enough to attach a photo if you choose.

Sorry about the messy table - i always forget when i am taking the photos - the flowers are from - the image is colored with promarkers - would love it if you left a comment thanks Kym xx

Hi guys - hope all is well with you everyone - i thought i would share this card i made - i used the leftover bits from the card with the flutterbys on in the last post - i had made a couple of bits to go on that card and i never used them - i also had a few bits of paper and card offcuts from that card as well - so just for my friend Sue i used them up and i made this card - let me know what you think - kym xx laters

Todays Card

Hi Guys - hope everybody is well - i have a couple of cards for you today - the first one is a silly card i made for my sister wendy who was going on her holls to Cyprus - really it was just an excuse to make a card - lol
The papers came from a free cd i got with a magazine - the ticket die and stamps came from whimsy stamps and the lace came from my stash - (actually the lace came from my Auntie Pam who was having a major clearout - bonus for me methinks)-the image is a magnolia that i purchased eons ago on ebay with the skin already colored so that bit of coloring is not mine but the rest is.

this is what the card looked like on the inside - i made it in docrafts digital designer.

This card  has another of those magnolia images that i got eons ago with the skin already colored - i used my spectrum noirs on this image - what do you think of the large turquoise and white flowers - i actually made those with flowers-they were white when i started lol - i used my pens to color them - i saw a tutorial on youtube - amazing what you can learn on there. The papers are from a GCD pad called The Lydia Collection which i got from great place for some bargains, the swirly pearls came from a Michaels store which i purchased when on holiday in Florida - the other flowers are also from iamroses the butterflys are from a couple of punches which i think are made by woodware - i hope you like - enjoy looking all comments are greatly appreciated - kym xx

Tuesday Get Togethers

Hi Guys - I have a couple of cards here that i made at our tuesday get togethers - which involves lotsa chatting, giggling, tea drinking & good company.

I call this the Harlequin Fairy - its an image that i have had for a long long time - so long that i can't remember where it came from - but i love it - the image is decoupaged - i used a martha stewart deep edger punch  also the branch is martha stewart the flowers are from
the papers are from an old Hot Off The Press pad called cardmakers ultimate pack - floral.

This card was made using a digi image from - i love these images - actually i think i blame as she does amazing cards and she introduced me to these images - the papers are from Hot off the Press again and i just wish i could get some more as i loved this paper - the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts - i colored the image with some promarkers/flexmarkers and the pinks were done with copic sketch markers. Hope you like - kym xx
